Advanced Cleanse Reviews – Fact or Fiction?

February 18, 2010

I turned to the internet for research when my doctor recommended that I look into colon cleansing to help with some digestive issues I was having. One of the first products I came across was Advanced Cleanse so I figure I’d look into it. Wanting to know what other people experienced when using the product, I searched for Advanced Cleanse reviews. I found dozens of reviews that said how wonderful this product is and at first I thought that I would give it a try.

I went to the Advanced Cleanse website and started reading their FAQs. It told me what a few of the active ingredients were but I was really bothered by the lack of specific information as to what was in the supplement. No where on the site is a specific ingredient list, let alone what amounts of the ingredients could be found in it. Not one of the Advanced Cleanse reviews that I found listed the ingredients, either. That raised a red warning flag for me as I couldn’t figure out why they were keeping that information hidden.

However, after doing more research, it became clear why they were not providing the details. The ingredients that they do cite in their FAQs were Chinese rhubarb root powder, Cascara Sagrada bark powder, Bentonite clay, Senna, Cape aloe and Slippery elm bark. Out of these few ingredients that they share, four of them are laxatives! And this is a product they tell you to take on an ongoing basis, not just for a one time detox. Out of these four, three of them create laxative dependency separately – can you imagine what they will do together and for a long period of time? One ingredient, Cascara Sagrada bark powder, has even been deemed “not generally recognized as safe…for OTC use” by the FDA.

The other thing that I found which really raised my hackles was that not one of the Advanced Cleanse reviews that I read were written by actual consumers. They were all posted by affiliates of the company who simply wanted to make a fast buck and didn’t care if anyone was made ill by the product. What I did find when I finally located some consumers was that there are a huge number of complaints against this company for deceptive business practices. They have a nasty habit of offering a 14 day trial but billing people a whopping $149.95 within the first week. They also seem to make it virtually impossible to cancel without being billed multiple times.

In the end, I went with a completely different product called ColoThin. Instead of relying on the overuse of laxatives for colon cleansing, ColoThin provides the fiber necessary to keep your bowels and colon regulated naturally. The main ingredient is psyllium seed husks which is high in both types of needed fiber – soluble and insoluble. Soluble fiber absorbs fat and water while the insoluble fiber is what moves this waste quickly out of the body.

The psyllium fiber helps to cleanse and regulate the system. Other natural ingredients provide extra nutrition that boosts the immune system overall so that you also experience more energy and vitality. Most people lose weight within a very short time of beginning to take ColoThin, too, because it eliminates water retention. Often that can be as much as 20 pounds of just dead weight, not only making you look bloated but also dragging your energy levels down. ColoThin will eliminate this problem very quickly.

The thing that really helped me decide to go with ColoThin is that their terms are clearly laid out on a separate page on their website, rather than hidden in tiny print that you need a magnifying glass to read. They give you a toll free number to cancel if you should wish to and an address if you should wish to cancel by mail instead. Unlike most programs of this nature, you can actually cancel by email, should you desire to and the cancellation will be honored immediately.
